What the first visit is for
Your first laser visit is the moment to confirm that laser is a good fit for your skin and hair, to agree on the zone, and to understand the plan. Coming prepared makes that conversation quicker and more useful.
Information to have ready
- The zone or zones you would like to treat.
- Your natural hair colour in that area: very light, red, grey or white hair responds poorly to laser.
- Recent sun exposure, tanning or self-tanner on the area.
- The medicines and supplements you take, and any recent change.
- Previous laser or light treatments, and how your skin reacted.
- Skin reactions you know of, such as cold sores or dark marks after irritation.
- Pregnancy, if applicable.
Questions to ask
- How many sessions do you expect for my zone, and how far apart? At KN, a plan usually involves 8 to 10 sessions.
- How should I prepare for each session: shaving, waxing, sun?
- What will I feel during the session, and what is normal afterwards?
- Should I start with a single session or a package?
- What should I do if my skin reacts after a session?
What not to do on your own
Do not stop a prescribed medicine to prepare for laser; talk to the person who prescribed it. Follow the preparation instructions the clinic gives you for your zone rather than general advice found online.
Booking your first session
You can book laser hair removal online by zone. If you would rather talk first, a consultation can be booked when it is offered online.
